CELEBRANT WEDDING & NAMING CEREMONIES

WHAT IS A WEDDING CELEBRANT AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

As a wedding celebrant Dean can conduct a non-religious or spiritual wedding service. Dean with the couple to be wed can aim for the wedding service to be a celebration that honours the couple with or without prayers, hymns etc.

The steady increase in Celebrants delivering wedding ceremonies continues to open up the questions around choice and originality when it comes to planning what is a special day. More people are discovering that anything is possible when a Celebrant creates and delivers their ceremony, using the couples own words.

This approach places greater emphasis on how the couple live their life, their personality traits and favourite music to be played etc. This is offered as opposed to the traditional religious service. Celebrants are the go-to option for people looking to create ceremonies of substance and meaning.

When do you need a wedding celebrant?

* If you would like someone to take charge of the main speaking role in a non legal marriage service.
* If you want someone more flexible than a traditional Minister.
* To give structure to the ceremony and help you think of what to include.

A registrar, like in a church, will have a limited choice of what can be included in your ceremony. With Dean you can ask for certain words, poems, readings and music to be included to create a unique ceremony.

You can have whatever you want in your ceremony, after all, it is YOUR day. The same would apply for those couples who want no reference to religion. Your ceremony means your words.

Will I be legally married if I have Dean as a Celebrant?

No, the legal bit has to be done in a registry office. It takes less than 10 minutes and costs around £100 in total. Many couples do this in jeans and t-shirts and they save the dressing up for the wedding ceremony.

Where can I have my wedding ceremony?

Any venue that is permissible. This could include a hotel, a museum, a gallery, woodland, a beach, a field, your old school, a night club, your garden, a tea room, the place where you first met. You can book any venue that hires out rooms for social events or gives you permission to do so.  You can even do it in Dean's private healing sanctuary.

Does a registrar have to be present at my wedding ceremony?

No, remember this is not a legal ceremony; most couples do the ‘legal bit’ either before or after the main event if they actually want to at all, as mentioned above.

What are the costs to hire Dean as a wedding Celebrant?

The costs vary according to the area and whether Dean has to travel far to your wedding venue.
Anywhere in Hull is just £200, anywhere else traveling expenses will be added accordingly.

WHAT IS A NAMING CEREMONY CELEBRANT AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

A naming ceremony is the event at which an infant, a youth, or an adult is given a name or names. The timing can vary from mere days after birth to several months or many years afterwards.

Many parents these days feel that they do not want a traditional Church christening because they do not hold any religious beliefs, or because they may want their child to be able to choose their own beliefs as they get older.

A naming ceremony offers a beautiful alternative, giving you a chance to openly welcome your child and affirm your love and commitment to them surrounded by a loving circle of family and friends.

As a naming ceremony Celebrant Dean can conduct a non-religious or spiritual ceremony. Dean with the family can aim for the naming ceremony service to be a celebration of life that honours the person with or without prayers, hymns etc.

This approach places greater emphasis on how perhaps the parents want the person to live their life, their personality traits etc. This is offered as opposed to the traditional religious service. Celebrants are the go-to option for people looking to create ceremonies of substance and meaning.
